Who are we?

We are a collection of resource management advisors supporting clients in all things environmental related.
Our consultants are based in Ashburton.

What we do

We assist farmers to pro-actively engage in changing their management systems on farm to reduce environmental impacts and contribute positively to achieving catchment water and air quality targets. By collaborating with farmers' professional service partners, we are able to ensure business profitability is maintained, and social licence to operate is enriched.

Mark has over 10 years of experience of integrating nutrient and resource management into farm systems consulting. 
Having advised on development projects for community, industry and government in both the south and north islands, Mark's focus is on ensuring farm businesses can continue to develop and improve performance and profitability while ensuring environmental objectives are met or exceeded. 
Mark's role at Lumen is to provide insights into the farm systems implications of nutrient and green house gas management solutions. 
Away from Lumen Mark shares his time with MRB, family and outdoors activities.

Johannes Rall

Johannes is an environmental science and sustainability advisor with extensive experience in compliance system design and impact management. Raised on a diverse farm in South Africa, he gained a deep understanding of farming operations and ecosystems, which fostered his commitment to sustainable practices.
Johannes has global experience planning and implementing environmental mitigation measures across all project phases, often in remote and challenging environments. He specializes in designing impact management systems aligned with international performance standards. At Lumen, Johannes provides technical support while driving business growth and collaboratively developing compliance strategies tailored to the goals of farming businesses.
Outside of Lumen, Johannes enjoys spending time with his family and assisting on their angora goat farm in the Banks Peninsula.

Reuben has a diverse background including experience in nutrient management and compliance.
He enjoys engaging with people and using his skills to assist farmers to understand and meet the environmental regulations.  He is interested in farm systems and developing enduring solutions.
From a farming background, in his spare time Reuben enjoys spending time with family, getting out on the farm, tinkering, and reading.

Growing up on her family's mixed cropping farm in Mid-Canterbury drove Victoria's decision to study a Bachelor of Commerce (Agriculture) at Lincoln University.  Since graduation, Victoria has spent her time gaining knowledge and experience in soils and nutrient management.
Victoria enjoys supporting farming businesses with their understanding of environmental regulations and collaborating to create profitable and sustainable solutions for the future.  
Currently based in South Canterbury, in her spare time Victoria enjoys spending time with family and friends, water skiing and helping out on the farm.
